TOWN OF TONAWANDA — A 57-year-old Buffalo man died this morning in a workplace accident at the FedEx facility at 1930 Military Road.
According to Town of Tonawnda Police, Earl W. Reese was working inside of a truck trailer around 7:15 a.m. when a pallet containing 1300 pounds of merchandise, that was positioned against the back wall of the truck, tipped over onto him, pinning him.
Several employees immediately came to his aid, but were unable to move the pallet. A fork lift was used to free Reese. Paramedics were unsuccessful in life-saving efforts and Reese died at the scene.
OSHA was notified of the incident. Police say it appears as though the incident were accidental and that no criminal conduct is suspected.
