PENDLETON — The Niagara County Criminal Bureau and Origin and Cause Unit are investigating a deadly fire that happened this morning on Aiken Road.
According to NCSO, dispatch had received a 911 call from a passerby around 6:51 a.m. stating that smoke was coming from 6598 Aiken Road. Niagara County patrols arrived on scene but were unable to make entry due to heavy smoke coming from the front door and flames coming from the rear of the residence. The Wendelville Vol. Fire Company arrived a short time later and made entry where they found a deceased female inside the residence. The fire was extinguished by Wendelville and Shawnee Vol. Fire Companies.
The residence is estimated to be a total loss. The name of the female victim is being withheld until the immediate family has been notified.
