BUFFALO — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office has a warning for residents with cars outside their homes: Lock them.
ECSO reports that there has been a string of thieves taking garage door openers from unlocked cars and using them to gain entry into the homes — then stealing items from the homes.
The sheriff’s office also notes that most thefts from cars are done from cars that are unlocked.
