SANBORN — Three Western New York business groups are teaming up to educate small business owners on cyber security.

The Better Business Bureau, Niagara Small Business Development Center and the Niagara USA Chamber will present a cyber security event at 8 a.m. June 28 at Niagara Community College.

According to the Better Business Bureau of Upstate New York, 60 percent of small businesses that experience a cyber security or data breach will fail within six months of an attack?

“Businesses large and small are vulnerable to online and mobile attacks,” according to the BBB. “What we are finding is that many small business owners do not know the signs of an attack or what it takes to protect their business.”

Attendees to the forum will hear from industry experts on topics including data security, cyber-attacks, insurance, securing mobile devices and disposing of old devices and more to protect their businesses. Scheduled presenters include AT&T, Digits LLC, law enforcement, Lawley Insurance and Lincoln Archives.
