BUFFALO — A 46-year-old Cheektowaga woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance, admitting to selling opioid pills out of her Charnwood Avenue home.

Wanda Winfield was arrested in May after law enforcement officials received information that the Cheektowaga grandmother was selling opioid pills. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Cheektowaga police and the Drug Enforcement Administration assisted in the investigation.

Winfield faces a maximum sentence of up to nine years in prison when she is sentenced Aug. 24.
