BUFFALO — A 23-year-old Buffalo woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter charges in the case of the death of her five-month-old daughter in September.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., Denay Foster inflicted fatal injuries on her five-month-old daughter, Ver’Naylah Laventure at their home on 14th Street in Buffalo.

The defendant faces a maximum of 25 years in state prison when she is sentenced on Aug. 16. Foster remains in jail without bail pending sentencing.
