BUFFALO — The Spring schedule at Whitworth-Ferguson Planetarium concludes this weekend, with three different programs being shown in the planetarium’s temporary facility on the Buffalo State College campus.
Undiscovered Worlds: The Search Beyond Our Sun explores the question, “Do other planets like Earth exist?” Showings are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Past the Equinox: The Skies of Spring takes the viewer through the constellations and planets visible this time of year in Buffalo. Clear skies following the evening shows (8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday) will allow telescope viewing of the Buffalo night sky, as well. The Skies of Spring has a third showing, at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Also on Saturday: One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure. The 12:30 p.m. show is interactive and designed to engage kids aged 3 to 6 in learning about the objects in Earth’s sky.
Reservations are recommended, as seating is limited in the temporary planetarium to 27 seats. The new, permanent planetarium is under construction, with a projected opening in 2018.
Information regarding tickets, reservations and trailers for the programs are available on the planetarium’s website: http://www.fergusonplanetarium.net/
