Former Buffalo State men’s soccer goalkeeper William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) has signed a professional contract with the Harrisburg Heat of the Major Arena Soccer League.
 
Banahene transferred to Buffalo State to conclude his collegiate career. He played two seasons as a Bengal in 2015 and 2016, appearing in 33 games, posting an overall record of 18-10-3 with 11 shutouts.  Banahene finished with a 0.87 goals against average and had a .833 save percentage.
 
The Heat will play a 24-game schedule in the MASL beginning on Dec. 1.  The league is comprised of 17 teams around North America, including franchises in Baltimore, Utica, Harrisburg, Mississauga, St. Louis, Orlando, Tampa, Milwaukee, Rio Grande Valley, El Paso, Monterrey, Dallas, Turlock, Ontario (CA), San Diego and Tacoma.
