NEWFANE – In support of community protection services, State Senator Rob Ortt, R-North Tonawanda, today presented the Miller Hose Fire Company with a $12,500 check to purchase new equipment. Senator Ortt secured the funding through this year’s state budget.
The volunteer fire company is using the funding to replace an aging hose on one of its fire trucks. Miller Hose is also purchasing a new set of protective gear, including a fire resistant coat and pants.
The Miller Hose Fire Company provides fire and EMS services for the Niagara County town of Newfane, and assists Barker, Wilson, the Town of Hartland and the hamlets of Olcott, Wrights Corners, Appleton, and Burt.
