gOD-Talk Documentary Screening @ Buffalo History Museum

May 17 @ 6:00 pm

Join the Smithsonian for a free, special screening of the new documentary gOD-Talk. The film is the culmination of a five-year study of the spiritual life of Black Millennials conducted by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture Center for the Study of African American Religious Life, in association with the Pew Research Center. The feature length film explores the lives of seven Black Millennials—Atheist, Buddhist, Christians, Muslim, Ifa, and Spiritualist—and their challenges and discoveries with faith and spirituality.

From issues pertaining to gender and sexuality, abuse and trauma, hip-hop culture and music, gentrification, race and racism, patriarchy, and more, the film explores a rising phenomenon of religious and spiritual shifts among the largest generation and one of the most influential demographics in the U.S, Black Millennials.  The evening will also include a special question-and-answer session with the film’s director. More information about gOD-Talk can be found here.

Admission is free. Please reserve your seat by clicking here.
