John Paul Radford, 66, born on February 14, 1957 in Windsor, Ontario, tragically passed away on August 14, 2023, in a car accident near Raleigh, NC.
He graduated from The University of Western Ontario in 1980. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edna, and his twin sister, Lisa, he is survived by his oldest brother, Keith (Linda), sister Anthea, and youngest brother Paul.
John leaves behind his beloved children and grandchildren: Mark and wife Tara with their children Ian and Kai; Craig and wife Laura with their children Pierce, Andrea, & Claire; and Erin and husband Parker with their daughter Olivia and a second daughter on the way, his former spouse Heather, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
John’s life partner, Maureen Griffin Balsbaugh, shared his happy life between Mystic, CT and Naples, FL.
He was a passionate entrepreneur within the construction cleaning industry. John did impressive jobs across the US for 40 years. He had a zest for life and was known for his humor, kindness and optimism. He cherished his children and grandchildren.
John’s interests outside of family included golfing, sailing, politics and the beach. He appreciated good conversations over a cold glass of chardonnay. John cherished friendships in wide social circles, maintained over great distances and many years.
The memorial will be held on August 22nd in Mystic, CT, followed by a celebration of life on October 27th in Burlington, ON at Burlington Golf and Country Club, with a time to be announced.
