William Grace, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 4, 2023. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Daniel and Gertrude (Downey) Grace and the beloved husband of Mary Lou (Holmes) Grace, who he married on August 25, 1956.
Bill graduated from Bishop Duffy High School where he excelled in football. He then went on to serve in the National Guard. He worked at Nabisco Shredded Wheat in Niagara Falls in the Maintenance Department for over 35 years. Bill was a Member of the Moose Lodge and was involved with the Moose Lodge Travel Baseball, as well as having coached for LaSalle Little League Zone 6 for many years. One of his biggest passions, however, was Notre Dame Football. He loved to go watch them play, and made countless trips there through the years with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, William is survived by his children; William (Linda) Grace, Mary Lynn (Robert) Bax, and Diane (John) Sisler; nine grandchildren; Jaclyn Grace, Adam (Jessica Crooks) Grace, Lauren (Alex Bitar) Grace, Matthew (Tristyn Puzan) Grace, Dominic Bax, Kara (Bryan Lucinski) Bax, Richard (Samantha DiLaura) Grace, Sean Sisler, and Patrick Sisler; two great-grandchildren; Mya and Angelo Grace; siblings; John (Neva) Grace, Richard (Robin) Grace, Katherine (late Duane) Strong, and Mary (late Leonard) Guslawski; and brother-in-law Donald (late Lois) Boland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by one son, Richard Grace; siblings; Daniel (Patricia) Grace, Theresa Grace, Robert (late Sondra) Grace, Bridget (Stan) Empson, Jerome (Karen) Grace, and Thomas Grace; and brothers-in-law Stewart Holmes and Bernard Holmes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. Bill’s Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday 10:00 AM at St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church 2748 Military Rd., Niagara Falls. Please assemble at church.
