LAURINE HAMILTON was called to eternal rest on July 4, 2023. Born on July 23, 1960, in Niagara Falls, New York, Laurine was a beacon of love, faith, and compassion. She transitioned peacefully in Lockport, New York, leaving a mark on all those who had the privilege to meet her.

As a daughter of the late Elzerie Nelson and Annie Ruth Jackson Nelson, Laurine was blessed with a nurturing spirit. She was the beloved wife of Samuel Hamilton, to whom she was married for 28 years, and together they shared a love story spanning four decades. Laurine was a devoted mother to her daughter, Lattise Hamilton of Buffalo, New York, and her son, Terrance Daniels of Niagara Falls, New York. She was also a cherished grandmother to Pamela Daniels, also of Niagara Falls, New York.

Laurine was the sister of four brothers, Thomas Nelson (Roxane) of Niagara Falls, New York, Philip Nelson of Limestone, New York, Frederick Nelson of North Carolina, and Robert Lee of Niagara Falls, New York. She was also the sister to four sisters, Elowise Ralands, Michele Spencer, Malina Nelson, and Dorothy Parks, all of Niagara Falls, New York. Laurine was preceded in death by her brothers Johnny and Ernest Nelson. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family, and friends, who will forever remember her.

Laurine grew up and received her education in Niagara Falls. She was a hardworking woman who dedicated over 20 years of her life to working at Elderwood at Crestwood. Her dedication to her work was a testament to her selfless nature and her unwavering commitment to caring for others.

Laurine’s interests were a reflection of her loving soul. Known as “Aunty Rain” by her nieces and nephews, she cherished every moment spent with her family. Laurine was a woman of faith, and member of the choir and a praise team member at St. Mark Open Door Baptist Church in Niagara Falls. Her melodious voice was not just a gift, but a testament to her deep-rooted faith. She loved to sing, and through her songs, she touched many hearts, uplifting spirits and spreading joy wherever she went.

Laurine was a faith-filled woman, a virtue that shone through in every aspect of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or offer a warm smile. She was a woman of great strength, resilience, and grace, who carried herself with an unwavering faith that inspired all those around her.

In the words of the Good Book, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Laurine (Nelson) Hamilton, your life was a testament to these words. You served your family with love, your work with dedication, and your God with unwavering faith. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith. Now, a crown of righteousness is laid up for you.

She now rests in the arms of our Lord, singing His praises in the heavenly choir. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 11, 2023, 11 AM at St. Mark Open Door Baptist Church, 2901 Highland Avenue, Niagara Falls, New York 14305. Funeral to follow at 12 PM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
