BUFFALO — Casey Mittelstadt scored at 1:18 of overtime to give the Buffalo Sabres a a 4-3 win against the Ottawa Senators at KeyBank Center on Thursday.
Mittelstadt, who also had an assist, skated the puck out of the corner and shot past Mads Sogaard from the right circle to win it.
Tage Thompson tied it 3-3 for the Sabres with a one-timer from one knee in the slot on the power play at 3:03 of the third period.
Jeff Skinner had three assists and Craig Anderson made 30 saves for the Sabres (41-33-7), who play at the Columbus Blue Jackets in their season finale on Friday.
The Sabres final game is at 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets
