BUFFALO — The Buffalo State women’s basketball team dropped a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening, falling 71-56 to #18 Rochester at the Sports Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grace Carey’s jumper less than a minute into the game gave Buffalo State the early 2-1 advantage.
- Rochester responded by scoring the next seven points, and led 18-11 with 2:17 left in the quarter.
- Buffalo State closed the quarter on a 6-3 run, capped by a step-back jumper by Josie Fleming (Clarence, NY/Clarence).
- The Yellowjackets outscored the Bengals 23-9 in the second quarter to lead 44-26 at halftime.
- The Bengal defense clamped down to begin the second half, allowing just four Rochester points in the opening six minutes.
- The Yellowjackets were still able to extend their lead, outscoring Buffalo State 11-6 in the quarter.
- Buffalo State outscored Rochester 24-16 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as the Yellowjackets cruised to victory.

- Katie Titus had a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double to lead Rochester.
