SCIO — A 24-year-old Scio man eluded police while being taken into custody this afternoon. A search for him is ongoing.
According to New York State Police, Troopers responded to 5580 Snowball Hollow Road around 12:30 p.m. to execute a bench warrant issued by the Town of Scio Court for the arrest of Ryan R. Mitchell, 24, for vehicle and traffic law related offenses.
After being taken into custody, Mitchell was able to escape and fled on foot. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a black shirt, blue jeans and work boots.
