BUFFALO — A 43-year-old Buffalo man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Friday following an April guilty plea to third-degree robbery and second-degree attempted robbery.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., Charles Henry of Grand Island had committed a series of robberies.
On January 20, Henry robbed Harry’s Gulf Mart on Delaware St. in Tonawanda, displaying a hammer and stealing $250. On Feb. 8, he robbed the Summit Federal Credit Union on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, where he handed a note to the teller, claiming he had a bomb and got away with more than $10,000. The money was later recovered by the Buffalo Police.
Henry’s sentence also includes several other robberies that occurred between Jan. 20 and Feb. 8 in Kenmore, the Town of Tonawanda, Amherst and Buffalo. He is a twice convicted felon for previous robberies in Erie County.
