CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS
Canisius men’s soccer head coach Dermot McGrane announced the incoming class for the 2019 season on Wednesday.
The 14-member class includes a mix of players from both North America and overseas as four players hail from New York, one from California, one from Ohio, three from Ontario, two from Germany, one from Australia, one from Belgium and one from Italy.
“We are excited to welcome this new group of players into the Canisius soccer family,” McGrane said. “It is a very talented group and we expect to see many of them compete for starting positions and playing time immediately. The coaching staff is looking forward to working with them very soon.”

Lachlan Beever | 6-1 | Back | Bendigo, Australia | Girton Grammer BEFORE CANISIUS: • 2018 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year • Selected to All-AMCC First Team and DIII All-Great Lakes First Team • Appeared in 20 games during his freshman season at Medaille, starting 18 • Led the Mavericks and the AMCC in goals (20) and points (43) • Finished season tied for eighth nationally in goals, T-12th in points and goals per game, and 20th in points per game • Scored multiple goals on five occasions, including hat tricks against Hiram (Sept. 7, and Hilbert (Oct. 23) and a four-goal effort versus Pitt-Greensburg (Oct. 13) • Recorded the game-winning goal in the AMCC Semifinals against Mount Aloysius (Oct. 1), helping Medaille advance to the AMCC Championship game PERSONAL: • Born April 7, 1998 • Son of Gavin and Heather Beever • One brother, William |
