
APPLETON — The Winery at Marjim Manor won six medals from the Tastings.com June wine competition, and had two of its six submitted wines labeled as “best buys.”
Sophia’s Sunrise, a cherry and grape blend, won a gold medal as well as an award for “best buy.”
Silver medals were awarded to Applegria, Peach for the Stars and Heart of Gold. Applegria, which was also named a “best buy,” is a blend of apple, peach and pear wine. Peach for the Stars is an aptly named peach wine, while Heart of Gold is apricot flavored.
Legacy and Cordially Yours received bronze medals. Legacy is made with black currents, while Cordially Yours is a cherry wine infused with chocolate. It is meant to be an after-dinner sipping wine.
The Winery at Marjim Manor is open 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily. and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The wines are available in 160 liquor stores and restaurants.
