
HAMILTON — The Canisius golf team opened the 2016 fall season on Saturday, as the Golden Griffins took part in the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational, hosted by Colgate. Canisius posted a two-round team score of 651, which has the Blue and Gold in 13th place after two rounds.
Freshman David Hanes is tied for 15th after 36 holes with his two-round total of 149. In his first collegiate round, Hanes carded a 73, and then followed that effort with a 76. Junior transfer Mark Lesinski is tied for 25th with his score of 152. Lesinski shot 74 in round one and posted a 78 in the second round.
Delaware leads the team event after two rounds with a team score of 579. Fairleigh Dickinson’s Nicolas Osorio is the tournament’s 36-hole leader with his two-round tally of 141, highlighted by his three-under par score of 68 in round one.
The third and final round of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational tess off at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
