CHEEKTOWAGA — The Cheektowaga Police Department still has a couple openings for its Fall 2016 Citizens Police Academy.

The academy is held from 7 – 10 p.m. Monday evenings at CPD headquarters beginning Sept. 19 and running through Dec. 19. Some of the topics covered will include recruiting and training, domestic violence, patrol procedures, K-9, crime scene investigation, vice, gambling and narcotics, ride alongs, sex offenses, penal law and accident investigation.

There are a limited number of spots available. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and be either a resident of or be employed in the Town of Cheektowaga. The application process for the Academy will include a check of your criminal history, driver’s license and a review of your past interactions with the Cheektowaga Police Department.
