APALACHIN — Canisius freshman David Hanes shot a two-over par 73 and junior Mark Lesinski carded a 76, as the Golden Griffins took part in the final round of the Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational at the Links at Hiawatha Landing.

As a team, Canisius shot 314 and placed 15th in the tournament. St. Bonaventure, which shot 284 as a team on Monday, won the team championship. Lehigh’s Owen Quinn won individual medalist honors with his two-round score of 135 after he shot 66 in the final round.

Hanes finished tied for ninth in the tournament with his two-round tally of 141, the fourth time this fall he’s served as the Blue and Gold’s top finisher. Lesinski finished the 36-hole event tied for 45th in the field after he posted a tournament score of 148.

Canisius will close out the fall schedule Oct. 10-11 when the team takes part in The Connecticut Cup, which will be hosted by UConn at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Conn.
