The Canisius College women’s soccer team will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Marist College on Wednesday to do battle with the Red Foxes. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

Canisius had won two games in a row versus Niagara and Manhattan heading into last Saturday’s contest at Quinnipiac, which the Griffs lost 3-0 and was only able to muster three shots, their season-low.

Canisius will be taking on the Red Foxes for the 21st time in program history as the Griffs hold a 7-12-1. The Griffs defeated Marist at home last season 2-1 in a double overtime thriller. Emily Kuta secured the win for the Golden Griffins in the 110th minute off a deflected shot that rolled perfectly to her for an open look. The conference rivals first faced off in 1997 with the Red Foxes taking home a 3-1 victory.

Marist is 5-7-1 overall and 4-2-0 at home this season. The Red Foxes are 1-3-1 in the MAAC after defeating Fairfield 1-0 last Saturday. Marist is third in the conference with 10 yellow cards. Last years’ contest saw three yellow cards (two on Canisius, one on Marist) and a red card on the Red Foxes. Junior Camille Brown leads the team in points (21), goals (10), shots on goal (24) and total shots (40).
