PHILADELPHIA – The University at Buffalo women’s rowing team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule by competing at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia on Saturday.

The Novice 8 “A” boat was the Bulls’ top finisher. They finished an impressive sixth out of 42 boats with a time of 17:39.81. The Novice 8 “A” boat consisted of Dana Cowley (cox), Abbie Albright, Rebecca Rozeski, Sydney Jones, Bailey Brugger, Maria Chinnici, Veronica Trzeciak, Maha Benyoussef and Haley Sheehan.

The Novice 8 “B” boat also competed in the race and finished in the top half, finishing in 21st place.  Made up of Diana Franzone (cox), Angeleek Moquete, Sarah Lesold, Eden Griger, Hannah Zuckerberg, Victoria Lawrence, Mackenzie Junjulas, Megan Dwyer and Nicole Walrath, the boat finished with a time of 19:15.19.

The Varsity 4 boat of Caeleigh Heavey (cox), Dania Abul-Enin, Hannah Annunziata, Graceanne Brown and Victoria Nehls finished 22nd of 56 boats with a time of 18:21.84.

UB’s Varsity 8 boat finished in 13th place with a time of 16:42.12. The Varsity 8 boat consisted of Ally Mayo (cox), Jillian Michael , Natalie Howk, Erin O’Connell , Elisabeth Good, Isabella Goldberg, Sophie Wisoff, Rylee James and Madeline Sheffield.

Finally, the Second Varsity 8 boat of Marissa Scaduto (cox), Sarah Brill, Anna Sviripa , Maddy Saporito, Paige Krohn, Elizabeth Shilling, Stephanie Busha, Ankita Kelkar, Hayley Nieves finished 29th of 56 boats with a time of 17:50.26.

This race concluded the fall portion of the Bulls’ schedule. They will be back in action on April 8 at the Knecht Cup.
