The featured show of the week is Milkie’s Halloween Ball 2017.

Formerly The Elmwood Lounge and the home of Buffalo legend Lance Diamond, Milkie’s has a palpable air of entertainment history. There’s a gorgeous stage backed by a lighted mirror and the location is about the best you could ask for on the Elmwood strip.

It is also one of those quintessential Buffalo bars on the fringe. You’re as likely to have a conversation with a random college kid as an octogenarian who has been warming the same bar stool for a few decades. If you’re lucky, you’ll get chatted up by Milkie himself, and hear stories about hanging out at NYC Playboy clubs with his girlfriend Marlo Thomas (true stories, by the way; we fact checked and found photos). You’ll catch live jazz music, jug bands, DJs, and zydeco–all depending on the day of the week. It’s such a mixed bag, you just have to walk in with an open mind, start a few conversations, and see what happens!

Coming up on their calendar is a Halloween Ball of extravagant local music. This Saturday, October 28th get your spooks ready, and come make your skeletons jingle with Seafox, Nuke Fun, Ponder The Giraffe, Animal Sounds, and Sofa Kingz! Doors open at 8:30pm, and they’ll be running late into the night!
