
BUFFALO — Princella McCullough (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) scored 20 points as hauled in 19 rebounds and Buffalo State led wire-to-wire in an 85-51 rout over Cazenovia today in the opening round of the Betty Abgott Invitational at the Sports Arena.
McCullough was 9 of 14 from the field and added three blocks. Aaliyah Graham (Huntington/Elwood-John Glenn) added 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the floor. Lay Knight (Brooklyn/Brooklyn Prep) had seven points to go with 10 rebounds, and Caleh McLean (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) added nine points and four assists. The Bengals jumped out to a 26-10 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Buffalo State dominated in the paint, outscoring the Wildcats 44-20 inside, while holding a 60-29 rebounding advantage. The Bengals also outscored Cazenovia 27-6 from 3-point range.
Buffalo State and Nazareth will square off in the championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday. Cazenovia and Thiel will play in the consolation a game at 11 a.m.
