PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Niagara University women’s basketball faces off against Drexel at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Daskalakis Center.
The Purple Eagles were defeated Saturday by the No. 20/19 Syracuse Orange, 109-60, at the historic Carrier Dome. Tiffany Corselli led Niagara in scoring with 12 points. Emily Granruth added a career-high 11 points for the Purple Eagles. Victoria Rampado and Morgan Baughman had a team-best five rebounds each. Jai Moore had six of Niagara’s 11 second quarter points, surpassing her scoring career-high. She had 10 points total. Niagara scored 41 of its 60 points in the second half of the game.
Rampado leads the Purple Eagles in both scoring and rebounding; she averages 15.8 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game. Rampado also has a team-high seven blocks. Corselli and Kaylee Stroemple also average in double-figure points. Stroemple averages 12.3 points per game and Corselli averages 10.6 points per game. Corselli leads the team in steals with 17 totals; she averages 1.9 steals per game. She also averages a team-best 3.1 assists per game.
Senior forward Sarah Curran leads the Dragons in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game. Kelsi Lidge, a junior forward, leads the team in rebounds with 4.3 per game. Senior guard Meghan Creighton has a team-high 10 steals. Creighton also leads the team in assists, averaging 5.8 assists per game. Sophomore center Tereza Kracikova has a team-high five blocks. Creighton and senior guard Jessica Pellechio both average in double-figure scoring; Creighton averages 11.0 points per game and Pellechio averages 15.2 points per game.
The Purple Eagles close out non-conference play at Fordham on Dec. 22 at 2 p.m.
