PENDLETON — A 21-year-old Pendleton man was charged today with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree menacing following an incident at his home.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Scott M. Cummings, 21, of 4898 Beach Ridge Road, Pendleton, had discharged a firearm in a building behind his residence during a get together. Cummings had allegedly become upset at one of the complainants and threatened him with a handgun. Cummings then discharged the gun into a wall, while in the presence of three others. Responding deputies interviewed witnesses and secured Cummings without incident. The handgun that was recovered at the scene by deputies was reported stolen in a burglary to Lockport Police in August.

Cummings was arraigned in Pendleton Town Court with bail set at $100,000/$200,000 and a return court appearance slated for Wednesday.
