CARBONDALE, Ill. – The University at Buffalo men’s swimming and diving team is tied for first place with Missouri State with 72 points after day one of the Mid-American Conference Championships. The Bulls kicked off the tournament with two medal-winning performances and broke a school relay record.

The men’s 200 Medley Relay team won gold in the event for the second year in a row. Hudson Carroll, Itai De La Vega, Mason Miller, and Eric Jensen swam to a new school record time of 1:26.88. The men also took the bronze in the 800 Free Relay. Jensen, Martin Leigh, Scott Huang, and Reid Zyniecki swam to a third place finish in a time of 6:34.69. The team was less than a second behind the second place team from Eastern Michigan and a tenth of a second ahead of Miami (OH).


The second day of competition will begin Thursday at 11 a.m.
