
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Monday marked the first day of competition at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at Virginia Tech University. Niagara senior diver JaRon Williams took part in the men’s 1-meter diving event Monday, and he will conclude competition with the 3-meter diving event Tuesday afternoon.
Williams finished with a score of 208.35 in six dives on the 1-meter board during Monday’s preliminaries to finish in 37th place.
Tuesday, Williams will take part in the 3-meter diving event, beginning with preliminaries at 12 p.m. The top 18 divers will advance to the afternoon’s finals on the 3-meter board. Williams set a career-high in 3-meter diving earlier this season when he scored a 297.68 in a home meet against Colgate on Nov. 6, 2016.
