The Canisius College baseball team announced that its 2017 home opener against Buffalo, slated for Tuesday afternoon, has been postponed due to heavy rain. The contest, originally scheduled for 3 p.m. will now be played in Amherst on April 5.
Canisius has had a strong start to its season, having gone 9-3 in the opening 12 games. Most recently the team bested Fordham in a four-game series, going 3-1 in Wilson, N.C.
The Griffs will be back in action this weekend when the team heads south once again, taking on Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C. The two-teams will meet on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday, at 1 p.m.
