BUFFALO — The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning throughout the Western New York area through 10 p.m.

Locations for the warning include Chautauqua County, all of the Niagara Frontier and Monroe County.

Southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected, which may result in downed trees and powerlines, scattered power outages, and property damage. Travel in high profile vehicles will also be difficult at times.

A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are expected for at least an hour…with gusts of 58 mph or greater at any time. Damage to trees…power lines…and property are possible with wind of this magnitude. If you have a high profile vehicles be extra careful until the wind subsides.
