LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Niagara men’s tennis team earned its first conference win of the season with a 5-2 win over the Rider Broncs on Friday.
Niagara won all three doubles matches to claim the point. The senior tandem of Felipe Fuentes and Francis Nadeau edged Rider’s No. 1 team, 7-6. Josh Wilson and Lukas Wenninger won 6-4 in two doubles, while Taylan Ozdemir and Jason Wisely won 6-3 in their first doubles match together. The Purple Eagles collected wins in one through four singles. Fuentes, Ozdemir, Nadeau and Wilson all picked up straight sets.
The Purple Eagles will play their final non-conference match of the season at Wagner on Saturday at 10 a.m.
