STATEN ISLAND — The Niagara Purple Eagles concluded their non-conference schedule with a 5-2 defeat at Wagner on Saturday.

Niagara played a depleted lineup and had to default in three doubles and in six singles. Two Purple Eagles managed to collect wins in singles action to provide the scoring for the Purple Eagles. Stella Peisakhova eased by Vedika Anand, 6-2, 6-0, in No. 1 singles and Ali Hutchinson beat Madison Pautsch, 6-4, 6-4, in four singles.

Stella Peisakhova won her fourth straight match and is 7-3 in her last 10 matches. Peisakhova has now won a career-high 13 singles matches.

The Purple Eagles wrap up the regular season next weekend at Saint Peter’s on April 22 and Siena on April 23.
