LEWISBURG, Pa. — The University at Buffalo track and field team completed competition at the Bison Open held at Bucknell University on Saturday. The competition ended with several Top-Ten finishes and some new personal best marks for the Bulls.
Mitchell Moore had a great showing during his time at the competition. Moore clocked in at 47.15 in the 400m dash to claim first place. This time also set a new personal record for him. Brian Cummiskey also had a good showing in the 400m dash. Cummiskey ran to a sixth place finish with a time of 48.59.
The Bulls saw second place finishes from Christine Lyttle, Joshua Gali, and Christian Doherty. Lyttle clocked in at 14.12 in the 100HH for second. Not far behind were teammates Nikara Carota, Kailyn Arcury, and Christal Henderson. Carota finished in third with a time of 14.39, Arcury in eight with a time of 14.60, and Henderson in 11th with a time of 14.77. Gali’s second place finish came in the 200m dash, where he clocked in at 21.71. Doherty jumped to a distance of 7.10m (23′ 3.5″) for second place in the long jump. Not far behind was teammate Alex Siracusa. Siracusa finished in sixth with a distance of 6.81m (22′ 4.25″).
The Bulls also saw three other third place finishes, two coming in the field events. Devon Patterson and McKenzie Kuehlewind threw to third place finishes in the shot put and hammer throw, respectively. Patterson threw to a distance of 17.13m (56′ 6.5″) in the shot put, and Kuehlewind threw for 52.42m (172′) in the hammer throw. Selina Von Jackowski, Molly Tupta, Sydney March, and Amy Villarini ran to a third place finish in the women’s 4X400 with a time of 3:54.14.
The Bulls saw five more Top-Ten finishes. Ryan Billian clocked in at 14.88 in the 110H for fourth place, while Doherty clocked in at 15.11 for eighth. Tyra Forbes also ran to a fourth place finish. She clocked in at 12.39 in the 100m dash. Mikayla Pearce jumped to a fifth place finish in the long jump, clearing a distance of 6.04m (19′ 9.75″). Hannah Roof cleared a height of 3.70m (12′ 1.5″) in the pole vault of tenth place.
