COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University at Buffalo track and field team completed day one of competition at the Jesse Owens Invitational held at Ohio State University. The Bulls had several new personal best set at the competition both on the track and field.

Sophomore Lauren Reyda had an impressive performance for the Bulls. Reyda clocked in at 17:33.95 on the 5000m for a first place finish and a new personal best. Not far behind her were teammates Laura Libruk and Meghan LaTuso. Libruk ran to a new personal best time of 18:14.83 for seventh place, and LaTuso clocked in at 18:51.35 for 12th.

McKenzie Kuehlewind placed fourth at the competition in the women’s hammer throw. She threw for a new personal best distance of 175′ 7″.

Sylvia Russell proved to be impressive on the track in the 3000m steeplechase. The freshman from Ajax, Ontario clocked in at 10:56.30 for an eighth place finish.

The Bulls are back in action, finishing up at the Jesse Owens Invite on Saturday. Competition begins at 10:00am.
