BEREA, Ohio — Benjamin Ezike (Staten Island/Susan Wagner) won the triple jump and Buffalo State piled up depth points, placing fifth of 10 teams at the 48th Annual Sparky Adams Invitational today at Baldwin Wallace.
 
Ezike won the triple jump with the 13th-best mark in Division III this season at 14.45 meters. He was also runner-up in the long jump (6.63m). Darren Thompson (Buffalo/St. Joe’s) was runner-up in the 200-meter dash (22.03), and placed seventh in the 100-meter dash (11.19). Robert Liebel (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) finished third in the 100-meter dash (10.89). Cody Lambert (Kenmore/Kenmore West) was fourth in the long jump (6.49m), while Robert Alexis (Middletown/Middletown) finished seventh (6.24m). Lambert was also eight in the high jump (1.84m). Elijah Lawal (Duanesburg/Duanesburg) earned a fifth-place showing in the high jump, clearing 1.89 meters, and Thomas Sayles (Jamesville/Fabius-Pompey) was fifth in the pole vault at a height of 3.66 meters. Austin Becker (Broadalbin/Broadalbin-Perth) placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run in his first meet in nearly two years with a time of 4:19.72. Jerome Willis (Brooklyn/Transit Tech) was eight in the 400-meter dash (51.81), Chris Duhaney (Hempstead/Uniondale) was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.24), and

Buffalo State will compete in one final tune-up meet before the SUNYAC Championships next Saturday at St. John Fisher.
