STAFF REPORTS

Buffalo’s offensive struggles continue as they lose 4-0 to the Railriders in game two of the double header Saturday at Coca-Coca Field.

It took until the sixth inning for the first run to come across in the game. Ji-Man Choi bunted against the shift to reach for the Railriders. A walk and fielder’s choice put runners on first and third. Cito Culver singled to center scoring Choi and Jake Cave was thrown out trying to advance to third on the hit to end the inning. The damage was done giving the Railriders a 1-0 lead.

Scranton/Wilks-Barre added to their lead in the seventh. With one out, catcher Wilkin Castillo blasted a ball over the left field wall for his first homerun of the season. Tyler Wade reached on an infield single and advanced to second on a fielder’s choice. Another single gave the Railriders runners on the corners for Choi who doubled off the right field wall to bring home a run. A wild pitch by Bisons pitcher Leonel Campos allowed the third run of the inning to scored extending the Railriders lead to 4-0.

The Bisons were unable to cash in after Christian Lopes’ leadoff double in the fifth. An infield single by Shane Opitz put runners on first and third. Jonathan Diaz put down a safety squeeze bunt that was fielded by the Railriders first baseman who caught Lopes in a rundown and was thrown out retreating back to third base. The Herd left 13 runners on base in the game.

Bisons Notes: Jake Elmore and Jason Leblebijian both went 2-3 in the game.
