WILLIAMSVILLE — Amherst Bassett Park is hosting a series of free concerts at Bassett Park on Klein Road. The 7 p.m. concerts begin on Wednesday. Organizers suggest attendees bring a lawn chair. 


The lineup is as follows: 


  • July 26 – American Legion Band of the Tonawanda’s
  • Aug. 2 – Friends of Harmony
  • Aug. 9 – Queen City Swing
  • Aug. 16 – McCarthyizm

Additionaly, a series of free concerts are planned for Tuesdays at Island Park. Again, organizers suggest attendees bring a chair.

The lineup for the Tuesday shows is as follows:

  • July 25 – Jonah Krull performing pop hits
  • Aug. 1 – Amherst Symphony Orchestra (If rain Amherst Symphony will be in Wms South High School)
  • Aug. 8 – Jasmine Quintet, performing jazz
  • Aug. 15 – Buffalo Dolls, swing music & 1940s hits
  • Aug. 22 – Friends of Harmony, Capella ensemble
  • Aug. 29 – Anderson Big Band

Williamsville Library will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, and pop. An ice cream truck is also expected to make a visit each week.
