Florence P. Burnett of Lockport passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House. She was born in Albion, NY, the daughter of the late James and Sarah Pilato. Florence married James Burnett in 1974, who predeceased her in 1975. She graduated from Albion High School and from SUNY at Brockport with a Bachelor of Science degree and was an elementary school teacher in Albion for 37 years.
Florence was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Albion and a current member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Lockport where she contributed her many talents to the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, New York State Retired Teachers’ Association and Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional honor society of key women educators.
She is survived by her sister Rae (late Joseph) Greco of Lockport, a nephew John (Christine) Greco, nieces Kathy (Joe) Manley, and Joan (late Charles) Aul, great nephews Matthew, Joshua, Daniel, and Samuel Greco, Ryan (Grace) Manley and Mark Manley and great niece Megan (Louis) Feaman as well as great great nephews Logan Feaman, Luke Manley, and great great niece Kathryn Feaman.
Friends and family are invited to a mass of Christian burial at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport, NY at 10 A.M. Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231.
