Arlene Janice (Coumont) Speer passed away August 21, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on April 3, 1931 she was the daughter of Rudy and Mildred (Erhart) Coumont. Arlene was a graduate of Bryant and Stratton and worked for the Lockport City School District where she was a teacher’s assistant. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed reading, walking, teaching, baking, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arlene was predeceased by her husband, Gerald F. ‘Jerry’ Speer on October 21, 2013.

Arlene is survived by her brother, Gene (Judy) Coumont; her children, April (William Rees) Bumpers, Scott (Debora) Speer and Jerilyn (Larry) Lecrone; grandchildren Jason (Kerry) Bumpers, Drew Bumpers, Mallory Bumpers, Sonya Hizie, Kursten (Kenny) Sirmans, Leighandra Speer, Alexis Speer, and Jelena Speer; great grandchildren Cooper, Julian, Kaydnz, Caleb, Micah, Jesse, Brooklyn, Christopher, Corey, Jonathan and Julianna.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Arlene’s life Saturday, August 26th from 2 to 4 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.
