BEMUS POINT — A 29-year-old Bemus Point man was arrested Monday on a warrant, accused of issuing a bad check.

According to New York State Police, Troopers had received a complaint from a local business in September, claiming that in June, Matthew Mecusker gave them a check for over $2,500 that came back returned, attempts to get him to pay the balance were unsuccessful and the case was subsequently reported to the authorities.

After receiving the complaint, the Troopers advised Mecusker of this case but he refused to turn himself in. Mecusker was arrested and processed at SP Jamestown before being arraigned in the Town of North Harmony Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
