I posted a piece a bit earlier this year about our precious diamond in Williamsville, our Library on Main Street.

I loved going to different libraries as a child and then as a teenager and even today as an adult. Libraries always served a special need as I grew up in a totally Italian speaking home.

Libraries have given me so much knowledge, relaxation and wisdom. It is only natural that other people, who also love our Williamsville Library, now have chance to give back to this little pearl which gives us so much for free!

Our Williamsville Library is holding their seventh annual, “Love Your Village/Love Your Library” gala. This event will be held at the Calvary Episcopal Church at 20 Milton St., Williamsville.

Tickets for the Gala are $30.00 ahead of time or $35.00 at the door.  They are available at all 4 libraries in Amherst during library hours and at Village Artisans 5560 Main St.  They can also be purchased online at www.loveyourvillage.org

The gala will have events like wine and beer tastings, silent and basket auctions, as well as a “Mad Hatter Costume Contest.”  That will be held from 7 :00 p.m to 9:30 p.m.

The prizes in the baskets will be vary. It would be fun if those who plan to attend this gala, in keeping with the spirit of this event, wore crazy hats and costumes from the Alice  in Wonderland book or movie.
