INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Buffalo State senior Connor Mergler (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) swam the final race of his collegiate career this evening and made it one to remember, touching tied for fourth in the 100 free at the NCAA Division III Championships at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Natatorium to earn his sixth All-America award.


Mergler captured All-America honors for the second time this week, finishing tied for fourth, breaking his own school and SUNYAC records with a time of 44.11 seconds.
 
His fourth-place finish matches his best at the national meet, also accomplishing the feat in the 100 free in 2016.  Mergler closes his career with a program-best six individual All-America honors, including a seventh-place finish in the 200 free earlier this week.  He is the owner of nine school records including in five individual events and four relays, and three SUNYAC records (50, 100 and 200 free).
 
Mergler earned 26.5 points overall, allowing Buffalo State to place 28th of 53 scoring teams overall in the NCAA Championships.
