 LAST TIME OUT
• Jourdan Roemer tallied five goals including four second-half markers to help lead the Canisius women’s lacrosse program to a 15-10 win over Siena on Wednesday afternoon.  
• The second half proved to be the difference maker for the Blue and Gold, as the team outscored Siena 7-4 to secure the victory.
• Roemer led all players, as she notched five goals and one assist for six points. Lauren Smolensky finished the game with a season-high four goals and one assist, while Marissa Malvaso tallied a season-high three goals.
• Rebecca VanLaeken improved to 6-5 overall, as she recorded eight saves and allowed 10 goals in the win. Sammy Horton got the start for Siena and took the loss, as she made 10 saves and allowed 15 goals.
• Canisius shook off a rough opening 10 minutes, erasing a two goal lead by the Saints, by scoring four-straight goals to take a 6-4 lead with 9:56 left in the half. Roemer started the run, as she buried a shot off a Jen Reiningerpass. Smolensky made it 4-4 just under a minute later.
• Allie Stewart tallied her 13th of the season to give the Griffs their first lead of the game at the 17:09 mark.Kayla O’Connell was credited with the assist. Meanwhile Smolensky capped the run at the 9:56 mark of the first half as she found a loose ball and cashed in.
• All-told the Blue and Gold scored six of the final eight goals of the first frame, following the early Siena advantage.
• Canisius opened the second half on a three-goal run, to it up its lead to 11-6. Roemer accounted for two of those markers, with Marissa Malvaso tallying the other.
• The Blue and Gold managed to keep the momentum going throughout the frame, outscoring the Saints 7-4 on the way to 15-10 victory.

SCOUTING CANISIUS
• The Golden Griffins continue their MAAC season on Sunday, as the team hosts the Monmouth Hawks at the Demske Sports Complex. Game time is set for 11 a.m. 
• Canisius enters the game with a 6-5 overall record and a 3-0 conference mark. 
• The month of March was a  good one for the Griffs as the team went 5-2 during the third month of the year. 
• Canisius has been led offensively by Jourdan Roemer, who comes into the contest with 46 points (30 goals and 16 assists). 
• Roemer’s 46 points is ranked first in the conference. 
• Not far behind is the team’s leading goal scorer, Jen Reininger, who has 35 points with 29  goals and six assists. 
• The Blue and Gold have also received goal scoring from Allie Stewart (13 goals), Lauren Smolenksy (seven goals and nine assists) and Bryar Cummings (10 goals and one assist) 
• Marissa Malvaso and Miranda Malvaso have continued to get stronger with each game, as the freshmen have been strong complimentary pieces in their first year.
• Marissa Malvaso has tallied 10 goals and two assists, while Miranda Malvaso has tallied three goals. 
• Reininger, aside from goal scoring, has been all over the stat sheet, leading the team in ground balls with 42, draw controls with 61 and caused turnovers with 19.
• Reininger is ranked seventh in the nation in ground balls with a 3.82 average. 
• Rebecca VanLaeken has been one of the nation’s best goaltenders, ranking second in the country in saves per game with a 12.09 mark. She has a 6-5 record this season with a 11.69 goals against average and a .506 save percentage. 

SCOUTING MONMOUTH
• The Hawks visit the Demske Sports Complex at a critical time in the MAAC season as teams continue to slog through the short conference slate.
• Monmouth enters the game with a 4-8 overall mark and a 2-1 MAAC record, most recently defeating, then undefeated Fairfield, 14-11.
• The 14-11 upset, made amends for the team’s second MAAC game when it fell to Marist, 14-3.
• The Hawks are averaging 10.3 goals per game, while Monmouth is yielding an averaging of 13.50 goals per contest.
• The team is led by Nicole Ceraso who has posted 37 points through 12 games this season. Ceraso has tallied 16 goals and 21 assists. 
• Alexa Smith is the team’s goals leader, having posted 29 this season. She is second on the team in overall points with 30.
• Jenny Staines, one of the heros against the Stags on Wednesday, is third on the team in points having tallied 16 goals and 13 assists. 
• Staines also leads the team from the draw circle, coming up with 32 draw controls this season.
• Riley Brager is the team’s backstop and also leads the team in ground balls with 26.
• Kate Ryan paces the team in caused turnovers (17) with Caroline Corbliss (11) and Megan Hart (10) also reaching double figures.
• Brager has gotten starts in all 12 games this season, having posted an 4-8 record. 
• The goalie comes into the contest with a 13.45 goals against average and a .410 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY VS. MONMOUTH
• The Hawks and Griffs will meet for just the eighth time in the all-time series, with Canisius holding a flawless 7-0 advantage.
• It hasn’t mattered to this point whether the game has been played at Canisius or Monmouth as the Blue and Gold has posted matching 3-0 home and road records. 
• The team also bested Monmouth in its only MAAC championship meeting in 2016.

ROEMER GETTING ROLLING
• The MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, Jourdan Roemer, has rally started to hit her stride as the team moves into middle of its MAAC season.
• She not only leads the team in points with 46, she also leads the conference.
• The junior attacker, has had back-to-back six point games, tallying 10 goals and two assists through the pair of contests.
• Roemer is now ranked 10th in program history in scoring, as she has now tallied 158 points.
• Roemer is also just six goals away from the 100 goal plateau. She would join Erica Evans as the only players on the current roster to have reached that mark.
