David J. Anstead passed away May 9, 2018. Born March 24, 1955 in Buffalo he was the son of, James H. and Marion (Hemmer) Anstead. David worked with his families business Anstead Furniture, 12 years with Home Depot and 31 years with the Buffalo News retiring in December 2017. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and especially enjoyed big band music and jazz.
David is survived by his wife, Anne (Granchelli) Anstead; son David (Lucy) Anstead, Jr.; grandsons Sawyer and Marshall; siblings Maureen (Jerrold) McElvain, Marcia (Terry) Brostoff, late James and Linda Anstead; in-laws Patrick (Lynda) Granchelli, Nicholas (Regina) Granchelli, Joe (Leslie) Granchelli, David (Mary) Haylett, and Tom (Jessie) Haley; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, May 14th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 15th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
