Denison strikes early, tops Buff State women’s soccer, 4-0

GRANVILLE, O.H. — Denison road three first-half goals to a 4-0 victory over visiting Buffalo State in a non-conference contest today at Piper Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Big Red opened the scoring just 1:33 into the contest and then extended the lead with two more goals less than three minutes apart in the 33^rd and 36^th minutes.
• Buffalo State was unable to maintain enough possession to mount a comeback bid, managing just one shot attempt in 90 minutes, compared to 18 by Denison.
• Denison completed the scoring on a penalty kick in the 88^th minute.
• Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) finished with six saves for Buffalo State.

 
FOR THE FOES

• Kailey Knopf, Liz Gilbert and Kelly O’Neill all scored for the Big Red, and Maggie Armstrong added a pair of assists.
