James L. “Jim” Cich, 71, of Wheatfield, NY, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 22, 2025. Born in Buffalo, NY, Jim was the beloved son of the late Louis and Pauline (Smith) Cich; and the beloved husband of Corrine (Reagan) Cich, whom he married on September 5, 1980.
As a child, he moved with his family to Niagara Falls, NY, where he graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1973. Throughout his school years, Jim was a proud athlete, excelling in football, baseball, and basketball. His love for the game carried on well beyond his playing days, as he found joy in coaching Little League baseball.
Jim began his career at ALOX Corporation, where he worked prior to its closing. He later found his true calling in financial advising, serving as co-owner at White, White & Cich Financial on Grand Island, NY, for many years.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jim was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees. He was a devout Catholic and attended Mass daily. He also found joy in spending time outdoors, especially basking in the sun, catching a tan.
Jim was kindhearted, with an unforgettable smile and an easygoing personality. He never hesitated to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
In addition to his wife, Corrine, of 45 years, Jim is survived by two daughters, Kristina (Josh) Ramos and Katie Cich (Mike Terrana); his beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Aryanna and Kiera Ramos; his sister, Deborah (Harold) Gurman, and niece, Amber Gurman. Jim is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
