BUFFALO – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly soccer awards on Wednesday afternoon, and the Bulls were well represented as senior Marissa Foster was named Offensive Player of the Week and junior Lexie Thompson earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

It is the second weekly honor for Thompson, the first for Foster and the seventh total for the Bulls this season.

Foster turned in a historic performance as she recorded a hat trick to lead Buffalo to a dominant 5-0 win at Northern Illinois on Sunday. The Wappingers Falls, NY native is the first Bull to accomplish that feat since Jenny Dannecker in 2004 and she did it remarkably fast, scoring the trio of goals in less than 10 minutes. She now ranks third on the team in goals (3) and points (7).

Thompson continues to impress between the pipes as she helped lead the Bulls to two shutout victories on the week. The Levittown, NY native has recorded a 9-2-1 overall record and leads the MAC and ranks in the top 25 nationally in goals against average (.51) and shutouts (6) while ranking second in the league in save percentage (.850) across 12 contests.

Up next, Buffalo continues Mid-America Conference play at Massachusetts on Thursday.
