Sada Garijanian, 97, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 28, 1928, she was the cherished daughter of the late Garabed “Charles” & Mary (Sahagian) Bedrosian and devoted wife of the late Arsen Garijanian, with whom she was married for 49 years until his passing in 1999.
Sada attended Niagara Falls schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1946. She was a member of the SAY (Students of Armenian Youth) sorority.
She was employed by M&T Bank in Niagara Falls, and Marine Midland Bank in Lewiston. She worked at ArtPark as an usher and easily made friends with all customers and patrons. She was a proud member of the Armenian Relief Society and St. Hagop’s Armenian Apostolic Church.
Sada enjoyed word puzzles, watching the Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. Frank Sinatra music was always playing in the house and she loved to bake, especially her special Apple Pie. She also made Armenian Choreg & cookies for the holidays.
Her family was everything to her, especially her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The words “looking at the young children brings life right back into you” will forever be remembered by her family.
Sada is survived by her 3 children Mark (Cathy) Garijanian, Peter (Terri) Garijanian, and Lisa (Steve) Flinchum; her grandchildren, Mark (Jen) Garijanian, Jr., Gregory (Samantha) Garijanian, Hope (Kurt) Webster, Peter Garijanian, Jr, Hayley (Anderson) Kendrick, Lauren Flinchum (Jaylin), Nicholas Flinchum; 11 great grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Margie Bedrosian of Niagara Falls, and was predeceased by her sisters, Salbie Denniston and Rita LaValley.
The family would like to acknowledge the nurses and staff at Our Lady of Peace for their outstanding care and compassion during Sada’s stay.
